Website Development Process

At Merkel Marketing we emphasize the importance of working closely with you—the client—to make sure we understand what YOU want and what YOU expect from your website.

Our website development process is designed to provide clients with maximum control over their website. Some clients are very web-savvy and already know what they want, while for others, websites are unfamiliar territory. Regardless of your level of experience, Merkel Marketing can help you build the perfect website. Here's how we work:

1. We meet with you to understand your business, your plans and your goals; we get to know you and you get to know us.
2. After our meeting, we prepare a proposal detailing project objectives, scope, workflow and cost.
3. Once we iron out the details, the proposal becomes the basis of a contract agreement. We begin as soon as the contract is executed.
4. All websites need a domain name and a web hosting service. We don't provide web hosting ourselves (click to here to read why), but we're happy to help you find and set up web hosting and register a domain name. If you already have a web host and/or domain name, then we just need access to the existing account(s).
5. Next, we design the website concept, which is a static JPEG showing the website’s proposed layout and appearance. We use this to plan out the site and show you what your home page and a sample inside page will look like. Of course, you get to review and request revisions.
6. Once we're agreed on how it will look, we start building the HTML prototype web page(s). Again, you get to review and request revisions.
7. With the prototype accepted, we finish coding and filling out the balance of the website.
8. Final approval and we 'go live'. After launch, the project is complete.
9. Merkel Marketing remains available on an as-needed hourly basis for changes, edits, new pages, etc.
